Entertainer dazzles with fifth win of season

Costing A$150,000 as a yearling but placed just once in four starts in Australia, ENTERTAINER is showing us his true value after arriving in Singapore.

The Zoustar gelding started his Singapore campaign with two placings last year. This was followed by two unplaced effort before he exploded into the scene with a hat-trick of wins at the start of the 2021 season.

The five-year-old has since picked three more wins in his last four starts, leading throughout in the Class 3 - 1100m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here today.

ENTERTAINER was the first emergency starter today after finishing fourth last time out in his first test in Class 3.

"It was not too bad in his last start when he couldn’t get in. He’s a horse who’s got a big action and he couldn’t really use his action," said trainer Mark Walker.

"ENTERTAINER seems to get on well with Hakim (Kamaruddin). They have built a strong record together (three wins), especially over 1100m."

It was the third win of the day for apprentice Hakim who leads the table with 46 wins, nine ahead of Danny Beasley.

Hakim started the day scoring on STREET PARTY and was also successful on LUCKY JINSHA.
