Hadeer completes hattrick with easy win

Having won over 1600m and placed four times up to 2000m, it's a little surprising that HADEER is excelling as a sprinter in Singapore.

The Savabeel gelding made his Singapore breakthrough last November when he took out a Class 4 event over 1200m.

After five unplaced runs this year, the six-year-old has struck a bright patch. A runaway double in Class 4 in the past two months was followed by a third straight win over 1200m at Kranji here today despite a promotion to Class 3.

Ridden apprentice Seow Poh Hui for the third consecutive race, HADEER shared the early lead but streaked ahead at the home bend and cleared away to win by three lengths.

"It was a good effort today. He was taken on from the 800m to the turn, but he did well to kick away," said trainer Mark Walker.

HADEER had a win and four placings in eight starts at three and four in Australia. He has now four wins and a second in 14 runs in Singapore.
