Hakim on a high with four-timer

Apprentice Hakim Kamaruddin enjoyed his career-best afternoon when he booted home four winners at Kranji here today. With a bit more luck, the Kelantan-born lad mighty have an even better meeting as he also finished second in three other races.

Hakim started off winning a double on FEDERATION and LATENT POWER for his master Mark Walker. It was the fifth win for the former and a maiden win in five starts for the latter, who cost A$320,000 as a two-year-old.

Hakim went on to score on the Tan Kah Soon-trained CLARTON SUPREME who registered back-to-back double after 22 runs.

It was back to another winning partnership with his master when Hakim took SACRED REBEL to an easy win in the Class 2 - 1100m handicap on the polytrack.

The son of Sepoy won once in New Zealand and twice in Australia before coming to Singapore and has now picked up six wins in 21 starts at Kranji.

"I knew I had good rides this week. I thought I could ride three winners like last year, but I got four, which is even better," said Hakim who rode three winners on Aug 8 last year.

One of his winners then was SACRED REBEL who has not scored again until today.
