After his seasonal debut defeat (into third place) last month after a four-month break, BIG HEARTED bounced back quickly to capture the Kranji Stakes B event over 1400m at Kranji here today.

The son of Hallowed Crown has already won six times in 13 starts while jockey Louis-Philippe Beuzelin rode him three times without success, including the gelding last start over 1200m.

BIG HEARTED, who won over 1800m and 2000m at the tailend of last year, appreciate the longer trip this time as he managed to come from midfield to win by half-length.

"I was worried about the pace. If they stack up the speed, that could work against us," said Beuzelin. "But he had a good run throughout and he did it very easy in the end. He did feel the big weight in the end, but his class prevailed."

BIG HEARTED was purchased for A$120,000 as a yearling.
