KHARISMA landed his fifth win of the season when he accounted for GRAND KONTA and company in the Kranji Stakes A event over 1200m at Kranji here today.

After finishing third to MR MALEK in the Group 2 Stewards' Cup (1600m) early last month, the son of Mossman skipped the Derby (1800m) last week to contest over his pet distance today.

Apprentice Iskandar Rosman, who scored once on the gelding early in the season, was back in the saddle and confidently steered KHARISMA to win by a neck.

"It was a brilliant ride from young Iskandar. He also listened to the instructions, which was to come across if he could," said trainer Stephen Gray. "He made full use of his light weight and he used his common sense."

"I’m very happy. He keeps stepping up, he’s a very good, lovely tough horse, and coming back from 1600m to 1200m, it was a very good effort."
