Kharisma continues winning ways

After three wins in Class 4, KHARISMA proved just as formidable against stronger opponents when he defied a promotion to win the Class 3 - 1200m sprint at Kranji here today.

Ridden for the first time by Troy See, the Mossman gelding settled in second spot before taking the lead into the straight to win by two lengths.

"I was very impressed with today’s win. He’s a horse who’s enjoying his racing and is quite genuine," said trainer Stephen Gray. "He wants more ground."

KHARISMA, bought by Gray for A$65,000 as a yearling, was placed in his first three starts before winning in Restricted Maiden last year. He went on to score back-to-back wins later in the season.

With two more wins this season, KHARISMA has now picked up five wins in 12 starts.
