Triple One Star shines on wet track

IPOH:  Nov 28, 2021

After going through the season without even a placing, TRIPLE ONE STAR finally shone on a very wet track in Ipoh here today.

Ridden by Laercio de Souza, the Darci Brahma gelding sat just behind the two front-runners ARIF and MR G before tackling the two leaders at the 200m.

The eight-year-old, who had previously won once in soft going, cleared away in the run home to win by 3 1/4 lengths in the Class 4 - 1600m handicap. It was his fifth win in 39 starts in Malaysia.

TRIPLE ONE STAR, a full brother to MYSTIC KINGDOM and a half-brother to FIRST EXPRESS, also haf a win in six starts in his native New Zealand.

The final three races were called off due to the adverse weather and track conditions.
