Big upset by Super Power

SUPER POWER, who finished in the tailend in his last three starts, showed an unexpected reversal of form to create a spectacular upset in the Class 4, Div 1 - 1100m handicap at Kranji here today.

The New Zealand gelding has been placed just thrice since picking up a win in 2017 and two the following year, his last success coming in August 2018.

Whereas he was never a factor the last three runs, SUPER POWER, ridden for the first time by M Nizar today, was well up with the pace throughout and pounced on ROMANTIC who took the lead from the pacemaker GOOD LUCK CHARM 50m out.

In a thrilling finish, SUPER POWER got up to win by a head fourth win in 26 starts. He paid $242 for a win.

SUPER POWER was purchased for NZ$310,000 at the Ready To Run sale but failed to carry on after winning three times in four starts early in his career.
