Multiblue Shark powers to mild upset

Six years ago, trainer Stephen Cook paid a modest A$30,000 for MULTIBLUE SHARK at the 2YOs in Training Sale at the Gold Coast and the gelding has turned out to be one of his most prolific money-spinners.

The seven-year-old by Myboycharlie braved the heavy rain which fell before and during the race to win the Enrich Stakes A race over 1200m here today to make it seven wins in 48 starts.

Partnered for the first time by Jackie Chuah, MULTIBLUE SHARK settled just off the pace in midfield, keeping in touch with the pacemaker LAUSDEO. But the leader kicked clear at the 400m and seemed headed for victory.

First LIM'S PIPER, then MULTIBLUE SHARK, desperately closed the gap in the final 200m with the latter finishing the better, winning by half a length to pay RM75 for a win.
