Arc Triumph celebrates Christmas Trophy win

The 2021 racing season in Malaysia concluded here today with ARC TRIUMPH taking out the RM60,000 Christmas Trophy, one of a handful of trophy races during the year disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic for the second year running.

The Showcasing gelding won six races in 33 starts in Singapore and has made a successful move to Malaysia this year.

ARC TRIUMPH made his Malaysian bow three months ago and has now picked up two wins in six starts under trainer Cheng Han Yong.

Jackson Low, who has ridden him twice, was third time lucky in today's Banded 62-89 set-weight event. Low had the seven-year-old parked right behind the pace the 1400m contest.

ARC TRIUMPH challenged the leader RELAU STAR at the 200m just when MOONGATE LIGHT was also making his move. ARC TRIUMPH got the front swiftly and held on to his advantage to win by half a length from AHTMIS KLIS who was flashing home too late.
