Beasley starts new season with a double

Danny Beasley came out of retirement last year and rode as if he's never been away. But ultimately he just failed to catch the runaway leader Hakim Kamaruddin to finish second in the jockey's premiership.

Beasley will be hoping to go one better this year — his first full season in his comeback — and has taken a positive step towards that end by winning the first race of the new season on LIM'S ZOOM.

Beasley made it a double two races later with AL GREEN.

Unplaced in 11 starts after finishing second in his seasonal debut last year, LIM'S ZOOM bounced back to form to score a runaway win, his fourth in 32 starts.

Nine-year-old AL GREEN, ridden for the first time by Beasley, proved to be as good as ever as he chalked up his seventh win in 56 starts in Singapore.

The gelding had a win and three placings in five starts in Argentina before moving to Singapore.
