Value Of Justice showing his worth at nine

Former Penang Gold Cup winner VALUE OF JUSTICE may be past his prime, but the now nine-year-old showed that he can raise a decent gallop by notching his second win of the season here today.

Ridden by Lim Shung Uai, the Daliapour gelding came from a long way in the early running to snatch the lead inside the final 200m to take the Class 5 -1600m handicap.

VALUE OF JUSTICE drifted out in the closing stages and finished near the outside rails.

VALUE OF JUSTICE, who had a win and a second in four runs in Australia, made no showing in five starts in Singapore in 2016 before being transferred to Frank Maynard who won four races with the gelding in 2017, including the Penang Gold Cup.

After finishing third (to TRUSON) in the Perak Derby in early 2018, he was back in Singapore to continue his career but his best effort in 13 starts was a second in his final appearance in 2019.

Reunited with Maynard in Malaysia, VALUE OF JUSTICE managed a third in three starts for the trainer before joining Wayne Lim.

It took Lim more than a year to get him right again when the veteran galloper scored a runaway win over 2000m at Sungei Besi last month.
