Ahtims Klis bounces back with Trophy win

AHTIMS KLIS, who reeled off four consecutive wins earlier in the season, bounced back to form to score an upset win in the RM50,000 Mornington Racecourse Trophy here today.

After his winning streak, the Australian mare had two creditable runs when she ran third and fourth but was totally out of it last week when she finished in the tailend over 1200m on this track.

Today, AHTIMS KLIS settled off the pace early but jockey Lim Aun Kean managed to find a gap between a wall of horses in the home stretch to go after the leaders GRAND CROSS and CHINA CAPTAIN with 200m to go.

AHTIMS KLIS opened up in a fine style to sweep past CHINA CAPTAIN to win by two lengths. GOLD SKY BILLION finished third after a very bad start.

Perhaps due her poor showing last week, AHTIMS KLIS started at long odds in the Rapid Stakes A event today and paid RM88 for a win.

It was the sixth win in 14 starts for AHTIMS KLIS who had a late start to her career. She did not race at two and three but scored twice and was placed once in three starts at four in Australia.
