Veteran Get The Lotski causes a surprise

GET THE LOTSKI caused a big upset here today, showing that he can still raise a gallop at the ripe old age of 11.

Two years ago, as a ten-year-old, the Australian gelding surprised quite a few people when he won three races in succession.

There have been a few placings since but his recent form has not been encouraging, which was probably why he was sent out a long odds in a Class 5 - 1600m handicap today.

Partnered by Mohd Yusri who is his regular rider of late, GET THE LOTSKI settled close to the pace and challenged for the lead at the 400m after AMISTAD had momentarily hit the front when the pacemaker and favourite APOLLO ROCK folded.

GET THE LOTSKI and AMISTAD fought stride-for-stride to the finish with the former winning by a head. He paid RM134 for a win.

It was the ninth win in 90 starts for the GET THE LOTSKI since making his first appearance in 2014.
