Blue Marine shoots down rivals for hattrick

It has taken a while for BLEU MARINE to regain his killer instinct which has taken him from France, to the UAE, Singapore and now Malaysia.

Al Rashid Stable bought the Irish gelding for 70,000 euros after he had raced successfully for two seasons in France.

Placed in his only run at two, BLEU MARINE scored over 1600m at Chantilly and was placed five times in seven starts at three, including three at Longchamp.

His owners sent him to the UAE where he managed one placing in four runs before he was shipped to Singapore.

BLEU MARINE failed to show up in three starts at Kranji and it took him a while to find his form when he was moved to trainer Cheng Han Yong in Kuala Lumpur.

BLEU MARINE made his Malaysian breakthrough last month when he scored over 1300m at Sungei Besi. He has followed up with another win early this month and completed a hattrick when he revelled on a soft track to win the Class 4 - 1400m handicap here today.
