Jockey Rosmizan lands first ever treble

Jockey Rosmizan Suhaimi enjoyed his best-ever afternoon when he booted home three winners SUNNY FIGHTER, LONELY BOY and SOMAR here today.

After achieving a career-high of 16 wins in 2019, Rosmizan landed only five winners in 2020 six last year, two seasons curtailed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

But Rosmizan was clearly in superb form today, thanks to his strategy of hugging the rails on his mounts until it was time to strike.

Partnering SUNNY FIGHTER for the first time, they came off the rails approaching the 200m to score drawing away.

The Redwood gelding won his second start back in September 2020 and has shown a return to form with three recent placings before

LONELY BOY, who had a win and three placings in six runs in England, was unbeaten in two runs in Malaysia before being sent down to Singapore where he managed a second placing in three runs.

Back in Malaysia, LONELY BOY was unplaced in four starts before bouncing back in style to win his three starts. He was three to four lengths behind the leader making the turn into the home straight before the main event today.

Rosmizan rode SOMAR twice before without success but he was third time lucky when they charged home inside the 200m to win drawing away for the gelding third win in 11 starts.
