Rueven achieves personal best six wins

Jockey Rueven Ravindra was in superb form here today, achieving a personal best of six wins (from a card of seven), highlighted by his success on DANCING RAIN in the Enrich Stakes A event over 1400m.

Rueven rode the gelding once before without success but today he timed his run to perfection. In a bunch-up field of seven runners, he allowed DANCING RAIN to settle in the rear until making the turn into the straight.

TOPMOST had led the way from the start and kicked clear with 200m to go. Rueven then sent DANCING RAIN through on the inside of runners to go after TOPMOST.

DANCING RAIN rapidly closed the gap collared TOPMOST close to home to score by a neck. It was the gelding's second win in nine starts in Malaysia, after picking up five wins in 36 runs in Singapore.

Rueven had started the day scoring on RULE THE WORLD and SOON YOU THINK for trainer Kevin Coetzee, who also trains DAMCING RAIN.

He then rode the Parama V. Sivan-trained ELITE REMARKABLE to victory and partnered trainer Shanmugam Subramaniam to win on SAGE before winding up the day on the Frank Maynard-trained LUCKY SIXTYSIX.

With his six wins, Rueven moved up to second in the table with 43 winners for the season, five behind Laercio De Souza.

Rueven's feat today matched that of apprentice Clyde Leck's six-winner haul on July 17 at Sungei Besi this year.
