Saddam returns to action with double

Jockey Saddam Hussein Saari marked his return to action after serving a suspension with a double here today.

After being unplaced in the first three races, Saddam was back in the winner's circle with BALL AND CHAIN in a Class 4 - 1200m handicap.

Saddam settled the Argentinean gelding second early and third behind the leaders D'GREAT RICH and HARVEYWALLBANGER making the turn into the straight.

Saddam had to ease BALL AND CHAIN out for a run at the top of the straight. Once he gets into top gear, the eight-year-old raced past the leaders with ease to win by one length.

Saddam ended the day with the biggest surprise of the afternoon, winning on PURPLE RAIN LADY (RM94). It was her 11th win in 81 starts since making her debut in 2017.

Rueven Ravindra continued his recent good form with another double astride GEORGETOWN and SECKILL and is now just one win behind table topper Laercio De Souza (48 wins).
