China Captain back in charge with 11th win

After mixing it up with the big boys twice last month, CHINA CAPTAIN is back in charge in the Enrich Stakes A event over 1400m here today, a track he tasted success thrice previously this season.

After an easy win a Cosmo C race over 1600m last October, the Rebel Raider gelding ran unplaced in the Coronation Cup and Charity Cup last month.

But CHINA CAPTAIN came into his own again today, overcoming an untidy start to win easily.

Last to break, the seven-year-old was racing in second last early and was still a long way from the leader RELAU STAR at the top of the straight.

But the soft going, CHINA CAPTAIN swept down the field on the outside to win drawing away by 2 1/2 lengths. STRONG N POWERFUL came with a late bid to beat RELAU STAR for second.

CHINA CAPTAIN has now won 11 times in 48 starts.
