Sacred Command steps up class and wins

A winner in both New Zealand and Australia, SACRED COMMAND is proving himself yet again in Singapore.

The Epaulette gelding was off the mark in his third start at Kranji when he came from some way back to win a Class 4 - 1400m handicap by a short head last month.

The five-year-old stepped up a class and distance and scored an impressive win over 1600m at Kranji here today.

This time SACRED COMMAND made all the running and romped home by 2 3/4 lengths.

"He (jockey Akmazani) made good use of the gate (two), but the horse pulled a lot when he sat outside the leader," said Jerome Tan.

"It was very hard to do that and win, so it was a very good run and the light weight helped.

"I knew he would handle the Polytrack, but I was worried about the step-up in class and the mile at only his fourth start in Singapore."

SACRED COMMAND raced for two seasons on New Zealand for a win and four placings in eight starts.

The gelding then raced in Australia, winning at Goulburn and Sandown and was placed three times in 14 runs at four and five.
