You simply cannot keep a good horse down for long.

Last October, in his first start after turning 10, GRAND CROSS led all-the-way in a Enrich Stakes A event over 1000m on this track.

The Fastnet Rock gelding managed just one third placing in four starts since but he was back at his absolute best when he carved out a narrow win in similar event over the same course and distance here today.

This time, however, jockey Harmeet Singh Gill was beaten to the lead by QIJI ACHEEVA and was content to track him on his outside. TITAN PEGASUS moved up to second round the home bend and GRAND CROSS third coming into the straight.

QIJI ACHEEVA beat off TITAN PEGASUS at the 200m but GRAND CROSS quickly ranged alongside him soon after. GRAND CROSS went to beat QIJI ACHEEVA by half a length.

TITAN PEGASUS raised another effort in the closing stages to finish just behind them in the photo.

It's the 21st career win for GRAND CROSS who won two races from five starts in Australia before moving to Singapore where he picked up four more wins.

Since crossing the border to Malaysia in 2019, GRAND CROSS has added 15 more wins to his name for an unprecedented 19 wins in the local circuit.
