Pinheiro's first five-timer in Singapore

Brazilian jockey Bernardo Pinheiro booted home five winners at Kranji here today. It was the first time he achieved the feat in Singapore but not his career first.

That historic moment came in July 2019 when he first came to this part of the world and scored on GYARADOS, SACRED GALAXY, MR WOLFF, RACE FOR FAME and FLASH ONE at Sungei Besi.

Pinhiero returned to Singapore for his second stint last April and brought his tally to 14 wins after his success on SILO, RICH FORTUNE, REAL EFECTO, TWO MILLION and COSMIC DANCER today.

"It’s very special. It reminded me of the day in 2019 when I first rode five winners in Kuala Lumpur," said Pinheiro.

"Today, I repeated the feat. I have ridden a double, three or four winners in a day many times, but it’s only the second time that I won five in a day.

"I’m so happy I can’t find words to describe how I feel, really. I want to thank all the trainers and connections for their support so far.

"I knew I had very good chances in all my 10 rides today, so I was not very surprised (with the five wins). I’ll just keep looking for more!"
