Qaidoom maintains form for another win

After winning her debut in Open Maiden company back in August 2021, it took QAIDOOM more than a year before finding her form again two months ago.

By then, the American mare was racing in Class 5 and had Manoel Nunes to thank for a narrow win over 1000m on the polytrack.

Promoted a class, QAIDOOM ran a close second (to WAR FRONTIER) over the same trip the same month.

After the December break, the mare continued on that form when she disputed the lead with another mare HAMAMA all the way before going on to win by a neck in the Class 4 - 1000m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here today.

Nunes, the runaway winner in the jockey's championship last year, is again setting the pace with a treble today, winning on AFTERMATH, WAR PRIDE and TAKHI.

But keeping pace with him in this first month of the 2023 season is Wong Chin Chuen who also booted home three winners today: BIG DAY, STAR EMPIRE and NINEONEONE.

Both Munes and Wong are on 11 winners, with Nunes having more second-place finishes (6 to 3).
