Saddam steals limelight with five winners

After riding just five winners prior to today's meeting here, Saddam Hussein Saari stole the limelight to double his tally for the season by winning five races, including the first four of the afternoon.

Ten-year-old SACRED GALAXY bounced back to form for the first time since last August to notch his sixth win in the opening event.

SPEEDY SWALLOW, who started his career as a four-year-old, broke the duck in his 14th start to give Saddam an early double.

OCEAN LAW, who scored his maiden win in April last year, was back with a winning performance, giving Saddam a hattrick.

DANCING RAIN, who last won an Enrich Stakes A event over 1400m on this track last October, was successful in a similar race today over 1300m. It was his third win in Malaysia after picking up five wins in Singapore.

But the afternoon was not over for Saddam.

Four races later, he was back in the winner's circle with REALITY. It was the maiden win for the Uruguay gelding who was unplaced in three runs in his home country and two starts in Singapore before moving to Malaysia.

Saddam has some way to go before matching his haul of 11 last year. He had a career best of 25 winners in 2019.
