Saddam lands double

Hussein Saari's superb run of form continued
here today when he won of the four races contested.
The double came right on the heels of his first five-winner strike in Ipoh
last Saturday, and he followed up the next day with another winner at Sungei
Besi.
After being placed in his first two rides today, Saddam struck on PERFECT
RUN which he was riding for the first time.
The 10-year-old scored a comeback win four runs back last February after
going through 36 months without success.
PERFECT RUN settled just behind a line of four horses early before switching
out in the straight, then sweeping to the front inside the final 200m to win
by 2 1/2 lengths. It was his fifth win since making his debut in 2017.
Saddam completed a double with FAST AND SUPER, who jumped best but was eased
back to allow GOLD SKY BILLION to lead.
GOLD SKY BILLION kicked clear at the top of the straight but FAST AND SUPER
eventually run him down to win by 3/4 length for his sixth win since making
his debut in late 2020.
