NOVEMBER MEETING
First Day,  Saturday,  28 November 2015

 RACE 1:  CLASS 5 - 1100M

RACING MAN (SS Vanan) stood flat-footed as the start was effected and was very slow to begin. Trainer Evert van Breukelen, the trainer of RACING MAN, will be advised that the Stewards placed a warning on this horse.

BULL AND BEAR (A Nawawi) kicked out, striking the rear gates upon jumping and as a result, was slow to begin.

PRERICH (App Z Khairil) jumped awkwardly and had a tendency to over-race in the early and middle stages of the event, and got its head up on several occasions.

Over the final 200m, BULL AND BEAR shifted out under pressure.

Over the concluding stages of the event, MAHA (S Ruzaini) shifted inwards resulting in PRERICH being inconvenienced. Over the final stages of the event, MAHA again shifted inwards resulting in PRERICH having to be checked by its rider.

The Stewards questioned App KP Lim, the rider of CHAMPAGNE ROSE, in the presence of his master, Trainer D Murphy, and Trainer R Lines, the trainer of CHAMPAGNE ROSE, into the tactics that were adopted on the mare in particular in the early stage of the event.

After viewing the official patrol films of this event and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards acting on their own observations, App KP Lim pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge were that on numerous occasions in the early stages of the event, he looked around unnecessarily and failed to take a position closer to the rail when the opportunity presented itself. The Stewards were further concerned with his whip use in the home straight for the run to the finish.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App KP Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one month with effect from 6 December 2015 and to expire on 5 January 2016, both dates inclusive. Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement of App KP Lim’s suspension. He was advised of his right of appeal (6:25pm).

 RACE 2:  CLASS 5 - 1100M

Acting on veterinary advice that FOX TREASURE was lame off-fore, the gelding was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 2pm. FOX TREASURE will be required to pass a 1000m/vet test before being declared to race again.

Upon jumping, YES CLUB (Lou Ho) shifted outwards and inconvenienced GO IT ALONE (App S Shafrizal).

JP SUMMER (App P Deneskumar) jumped awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, BLACK IS POWER (HS Gill) was inconvenienced when LECTERN (App T Krisna) shifted inwards. App T Krisna was shown the official patrol film of the incident and reminded of his obligation to exercise greater care when shifting ground under similar circumstances in future.

Leaving the 400m, BLACK IS POWER (HS Gill) was inconvenienced when YES CLUB shifted outwards to gain clear running. Jockey Lou Ho was shown the official patrol film of the incident and reminded of his obligation to exercise greater care when shifting ground under similar circumstances in future.

Racing from the 350m to the 200m, DEKATI (App AK Lim) was held up for a clear run between runners when racing in restricted racing room.

Approaching the 200m, Jockey SS Vanan, accidentally dropped his whip while racing in restricted racing room. The Stewards did not take any action on this occasion given the circumstances.

LECTERN was caught racing wide throughout the event.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that JP SUMMER returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of 2 months, and be entered for a bleeder’s test for a period of 3 months, and start in any race for a period of 3 months after such declaration, and then only after passing the bleeder’s test.

 RACE 3:  CLASS 4 - 1600M

The Stewards questioned Jockey HS Gill into the reasons why he made comments towards the crowd while leaving the mounting yard. Jockey HS Gill reported that someone in the crowd was making derogatory comments towards him, his family and the trainer, and he angrily reacted to these comments. Jockey HS Gill was strongly reminded of his obligation that in future the Stewards would not tolerate this type of behavior from a Jockey, and he should conduct himself in a more appropriate and professional manner than he did on this occasion.

Prior to the running of this event, the Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that HIGH TENSILE (M Wepner) was exhibiting signs of mild lameness during pre-race trot up examination. On further inspection, HIGH TENSILE was allowed to take its place in the field and will be further inspected behind the barriers.

On subsequent veterinary examination, HIGH TENSILE was found to be lame off-fore and the gelding was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 3:53pm. HIGH TENSILE will be required to pass a 1000m/vet test before being declared to race again.

Q NINE MASTER (H Bukhari) raced ungenerously for the first 300m of the race.

At approximately the 1000m, DANCING TSURU (S Ruzaini) rolled in slightly and inconvenienced SUPER FIVE (HS Gill).

DANCING TSURU was very difficult to settle in the early part of the race and thereafter shifted in under the whip at about the 200m mark.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Trainer Anna Scott, the trainer of HIGH TENSILE, pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that she made derogatory comments towards the Chief Veterinary Surgeon in relation to HIGH TENSILE being withdrawn from the race and she also made derogatory comments towards Jockey M Wepner upon returning to scales after the race. Trainer Anna Scott was fined RM1,000 and was advised of her right of appeal (3:45pm).

 RACE 4:  CLASS 5 - 1600M

Upon jumping, RUNFORIT (App Z Khairil) jumped inwards and made contact with SUPER IDOL (H Bukhari).

Over the concluding stages, AGELESS (App WT Chung) had to shift out off the heels of the runners in front to gain clear running.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 5 - 1600M

LITTLE MAN (App M Hanif) cast its off fore plate behind the barriers and had to be reshod. LITTLE MAN was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to take its place in the field.

In the early stages of the event, KING OF SEAL (H Bukhari) got its head up and had to be restrained off the runners in front.

SAGAR’S EXPRESS (HS Gill) was caught racing wide in the early stages prior to progressing forward and gaining the position outside the leader, LITTLE MAN (App M Hanif) at the 1000m.

Racing to the 1100m, KING OF SEAL over-raced and had to be eased off the heels of KEY LARGOLD (App KC Wong) and as a result, struck the running rail.

Approaching the 1000m, BOWEN LAD (App WK Lee) eased out over the heels of KEY LARGOLD and as a result of this incident, DRAGON EIGHT moved forward and took this position resulting in BOWEN LAD being caught racing 3-wide for the remainder part of the event.

SAGAR’S EXPRESS, which was beaten 22 lengths, will be required to pass a 1000m/vet test before being declared to race again for having a poor performance.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 4 - 1100M

CIZEN GIFT (H Bukhari) cast its off-fore plate en route to the barrier and had to be reshod. CIZEN GIFT was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to take its place in the field.

On jumping, GET THE LOTSKI (WK Yan) and DARK PULSE (M Ganeesh) bumped on several occasions.

Approaching the 200m, GET THE LOTSKI was held up for a clear run behind HAPPY CHOICE (App Z Khairil). Shortly after the incident, ENGLISH DREAM rolled inwards resulting in GET THE LOTSKI moving outwards over the heels of HAPPY CHOICE.

Racing to the 150m mark, SPEED POWER (App KC Wong) shifted in over the heels of HAPPY FLYING (Lou Ho) and as a result, SUPER GOOD (App WT Chung) had to be checked by its rider. App KC Wong was shown the official patrol film of the incident, and was reprimanded and reminded of his obligation to exercise greater care when shifting ground under similar circumstances in future.

REACHING (A Nawawi) had a tendency to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages of the race.

Over the concluding stages of the event, CIZEN GIFT had to be checked off the heels of REACHING (A Nawawi) and shifted in to gain clear running. Shortly after this incident, CIZEN GIFT shifted in further resulting in ENGLISH DREAM shifting in and away from CIZEN GIFT which resulted in a heavy contact with GET THE LOTSKI.

ENGLISH DREAM (App WK Lee) and MR EPIC (App KP Lim) were both caught racing wide throughout the event.

 RACE 7:  CLASS 4 - 1100M

Trainer W Lim was fined RM100 under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on LITTLE JUMBO.

MAL’S DAD (App M Hanif) reared up and struck App M Hanif in the face. App M Hanif was examined by the Club Medical Officer who found him unfit to fulfill his riding engagement for the remainder of the day. App M Hanif was subsequently sent to hospital for further observation.

ULTRA UNITED (J Low) was slow to muster early speed.

DARK EXPRESS (C Goon) had a tendency to over-race in the middle stages and got its head up.

WOW (M Wepner) had a tendency to over-race in the middle stages.

Approaching the 300m, CRAZY TIMES (Lou Ho) was momentarily held up and shifted outwards to gain clear running. As a result of this incident, TILSWORTH FREDDIE (S Ruzaini) and WHITE PILLOW (App KC Wong) were momentarily inconvenienced and taken wider on the track.

 RACE 8:  CLASS 5 - 1100M

Upon jumping, PRINCE NANO (App KP Lim) shifted outwards and made contact with EASY AHEAD (App Z Khairil) and VISTA (A Nawawi).

IT’S DONE MATE (App SU Lim) was slow into stride.

Leaving the 400m, REMARKABLE (J De Souza) shifted in over the heels of GOLD CARD (M Zaidi). Shortly after this incident, GOLD CARD shifted inwards under pressure, taking REMARKABLE in onto EASY AHEAD and both of these horses jostled for a short distance.

Approaching the 300m, PASHA KHAN shifted outwards which resulted in PRINCE NANO (App KP Lim) having to be steadied off that gelding  s heels. PASHA KHAN continued to shift outwards under pressure and made contact with VISTA.

VISTA laid inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

 GENERAL

App M Hanif was fined RM100 for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to present his winning rides book to the Stewards.

RACE 3 (R1385), SATURDAY, 21 NOVEMBER 2015, SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER HOME-BASED MEETING 2015

App KC Wong (AIR STRIKE) subsequently exercised his right of appeal and applied for a stay of sentence. The Stewards considered the application for a stay which was allowed. The appeal hearing against the penalty of the suspension of two Malaysian race days will be held at a date to be fixed.

POST-RACE URINE: 21 NOVEMBER 2015
SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2015

The report dated 26 November 2015 (V15/152) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 26 coded urine and 28 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 21 November 2015, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 26 November 2015 (V15/153) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 21 November 2015, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
