Jockey R Jasmin and Trainer C Robert, the rider and trainer of MY SWALLOW respectively, were questioned regarding MY SWALLOW’s run, particularly in the home straight. Trainer C Robert advised the Stewards that he instructed Jockey R Jasmin "to have a good jump, sit mid-field and go all out in the home straight". When questioned regarding his lack of whip use in the home straight, Jockey R Jasmin advised the Stewards that he did not use the whip behind the saddle in the home straight as he rides MY SWALLOW regularly in trackwork and is of the opinion that MY SWALLOW does not respond to whip use. He felt that today’s hands and heels ride and whip use in the ‘carry’ position suited the horse best and he believed that he did his best in the race. The explanations were noted.

Jockey S Salee was subsequently shown the video replay. In his defence, Jockey S Salee advised the Stewards that his saddle had slipped backwards during this incident and he was unable to fully control his mount. The Stewards took into account his explanation and confirmed that the saddle had slipped back in running, however, warned him that under similar circumstances, he would be expected to make more attempt to keep his horse on a straight course in future.

A post-race veterinary examination of LA QUINTA (App AK Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.
