 RACE 1:  CLASS 5, DIV 1 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

MOTHER NATURE (B Vorster), which jumped away awkwardly, was bumped shortly after when BONJOUR BOB (I Saifudin) shifted inwards after jumping away awkwardly. This resulted in MOTHER NATURE then making contact with the hindquarters of NATURAL IMPULSE (CW Brown).

MOTHER NATURE, which raced keenly in the early stages, raced wide throughout.

SUPER BONUS (J Powell) laid outwards from the 600m.

CONFACET (O Chavez) laid inwards under pressure in the straight obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions.

Passing the 150m, SUPER BONUS had to be eased off the heels of NATURAL IMPULSE, which was carried inwards when CONFACET shifted inwards under pressure.

 RACE 2:  RESTRICTED MAIDEN - 1200M

ARION (CW Brown) was slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly.

NOVA ANGEL (M Zaki) and ASTROCANDY (E Chaves) bumped on jumping. Shortly after, ASTROCANDY then had to be steadied off the heels of GOLDEN SAND (B Vorster), which had been carried outwards by ARION.

Shortly after the start, Jockey E Chaves, the rider of ASTROCANDY, had to readjust his off-side stirrup iron.

Approaching the 800m, STAR GENIUS (I Saifudin) got its head up and raced keenly when being steadied off the heels of ARION.

CLAIR DE LUNE (A Da Silva) had a tendency to lay inwards in the early part of the straight.

Approaching the 200m, STAR GENIUS shifted outwards making contact with ARION.

 RACE 3:  NOVICE - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

BEST JADE (O Chavez) and BASTION (A Da Silva) both jumped away awkwardly.

LUCKY BOY (K A’Isisuhairi), which jumped away awkwardly, was crowded shortly after between LUMINIFF LAD (D Beasley), which shifted outwards and DEVIL’S PASS (J Powell), which was carried inwards by GOOD BET (R Woodworth).

Passing the 800m, PICASSO (I Saifudin) had a tendency to lay inwards.

Passing the 700m, DEVIL’S PASS, which was racing keenly, laid outwards, resulting in GOOD BET being bumped out onto the heels of PICASSO, with GOOD BET having to be checked. This resulted in BEST JADE being carried out wider on the track. Shortly after, PICASSO then commenced to hang inwards.

PICASSO continued to hang inwards in the straight placing its rider at a disadvantage. PICASSO will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

The Farrier reported that BEST JADE returned having cast its both-fore plates.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BEST JADE which revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. BEST JADE will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on PICASSO which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 4:  MAIDEN - 1400M

EXCELLENT WINNER (J Powell) was slow to begin.

ARLO (App I Amirul) jumped away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, DAMON (KB Soo) shifted inwards making contact with TOOBIGTOFAIL (I Saifudin).

Approaching the 1350m, LEE MAN (App WT Chung) and DAMON both momentarily raced tight to the outside of TOOBIGTOFAIL and to the inside of DASHING (App CC Wong), which rolled inwards.

Passing the 800m, JOY AND HAPPY (R Woodworth) eased off the heels of ARLO, which shifted inwards. App Amirul was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

ARCHER COMPANY (E Chaves) raced wide from the 600m.

TOOBIGTOFAIL had difficulty obtaining a clear run between the 400m and the 200m.

Approaching the 350m, ARLO shifted outwards making contact with JOY AND HAPPY. Thereafter, JOY AND HAPPY commenced to lay outwards for the remainder of the race.

Near the 200m, LEE MAN steadied off the heels of TOOBIGTOFAIL, which shifted outwards to obtain clear running.

 RACE 5:  CLASS 5 - 1600M (POLYTRACK)

HEAR ME (S John), which stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

ANAK PENANG (A Munro) and HEE’S EGO (CW Brown) bumped on jumping.

NOVA POWER (M Zaki) was slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, TIGER BAY (J Powell) shifted outwards and bumped MASURAO (K Fujii), which was then bumped by HAPPY JOY (App CK Ng), which rolled inwards.

Near the 1400m, GOLDEN JADE (I Saifudin) eased to avoid the heels of HAPPY JOY, which shifted inwards. App CK Ng was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

After passing the 1200m, ANAK PENANG, which was overracing, had to be steadied off the heels of MASURAO. Thereafter, ANAK PENANG continued to overrace for some distance.

DRAGON GOLD (D Beasley) and BIGCAT RHAPSODY (E Chaves) both raced wide throughout.

After passing the 800m, GOLDEN JADE had to be steadied after racing up onto the heels of NOVA POWER.

GOLD CUSTOMER (A Da Silva) was held up for clear running from the 600m until near the 400m.

Near the 200m, TIGER BAY shifted outwards abruptly and in so doing, bumped HAN SOLO (M Kellady).

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on HAN SOLO which revealed that the horse exhibited signs of respiratory distress after the race. HAN SOLO will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on HEE’S EGO which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that ANAK PENANG returned lame off-fore. ANAK PENANG will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

 RACE 6:  CLASS 5, DIV 2 - 1000M (POLYTRACK)

STOCK BROKER (CW Brown), which was fractious in the barrier, resulting in a short delay in the start, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

As the start was effected, ZAC GALLANT (App CK Ng), which had been restless in the barrier, began awkwardly and lost ground.

Shortly after the start, SACRED CROWN (App N Alfian) eased to avoid the heels of SPECTA DILEMMA (App Z Zuriman), which shifted inwards and away from BLACK BEAN (M Zaki).

Near the 500m, SUPER EIGHT (O Chavez) was carried wider on the track by HANDSOME BAB (I Saifudin), which shifted outwards.

OASIS SPUR (K Fujii) raced wide throughout.

Near the 250m, SUPER EIGHT shifted outwards and bumped SPECTA DILEMMA. SPECTA DILEMMA was then crowded for room between SUPER EIGHT and BLACK BEAN, which was taken inwards slightly by STOCK BROKER.

Jockey D Beasley reported that INFERMO was not striding out freely.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. INFERMO will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Jockey Fujii reported that OASIS SPUR was making respiratory noises. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned as a roarer. The Veterinary Surgeon advised that OASIS SPUR had previously undergone corrective surgery for this condition. However, OASIS SPUR also returned with an upper airway condition. As such, OASIS SPUR will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

 RACE 7:  BENCHMARK 97 - 1400M (POLYTRACK)

Permission was granted for Jockey I Saifudin to replace Jockey A Da Silva on FRAAJILISTIC as the latter was unable to make the weight. Jockey Da Silva was subsequently fined a sum of S$200 in terms of MRA Rule 107(9).

VALBUENA (E Chaves) was slow to begin.

DARCI CHARMER (B Vorster) and HUGHSY (App CC Wong) both began awkwardly.

ONE RAR (App H Syafiq), which began awkwardly, shifted inwards shortly after and bumped FRAAJILISTIC.

Approaching the 1300m, FRAAJILISTIC had to be eased when crowded between ONE RAR, which rolled inwards slightly and A LA VICTORY (CW Brown), which shifted outwards.

DARCI CHARMER raced wide throughout.

A LA VICTORY was held up and unable to improve between the 500m and the 300m.

Approaching the 200m, VALBUENA had to be taken outwards across the heels of GOODMAN (J Powell) in order to obtain clear running.

 RACE 8:  CLASS 4 - 1200M (POLYTRACK)

ANONYMOUS (S John) and HAPPY SAGA (App R Rueven) bumped on jumping.

SUPER JOY (K A’Isisuhairi) jumped outwards at the start bumping BRIEFNESS (O Chavez) out onto NOVA STAR (E Chaves).

BATTLE KING (A Munro) jumped away awkwardly.

RED ANT (D Beasley) and BRIEFNESS both raced wide throughout.

BRIEFNESS laid outwards making the turn into the straight and in so doing, carried NOVA STAR and RED ANT wider on the track.

HAPPY SAGA had difficulty obtaining a clear run between the 300m and the 100m.

Whilst Stewards were of the opinion that it had not affected the placings, Jockey A’Isisuhairi, the rider of SUPER JOY, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that BRIEFNESS had returned with the saddle having slipped back during the running of the race.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BATTLE KING which revealed no apparent abnormality.

 RACE 9:  CLASS 3 - 1400M

After arriving at the barrier, TOTALITY (A Da Silva) had its saddle readjusted.

LAUGHING GRAVY (K A’Isisuhairi) was slow to begin.

ODE TO JOY (A Munro) and POSEIDON (App R Rueven) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, SHANGHAI BUND (B Vorster) was crowded for room between ROCKFAST (App CK Ng) and TOTALITY, which shifted outwards. SHANGHAI BUND then shifted inwards and bumped TOTALITY.

Shortly after the start, NOVA STRIKE (E Chaves) checked and SMART IDEA (App Z Zuriman) and NANDOWRA (S John) both had to be eased when racing to the inside of POSEIDON. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

After passing the 1200m, ODE TO JOY eased to avoid the heels of NANDOWRA, which was carried outwards by ROCKFAST.

Approaching the 1000m, NOVA STRIKE shifted outwards and bumped ROCKFAST out onto NANDOWRA.

Approaching the 700m, GILT COMPLEX (App CC Wong) and TOTALITY bumped, resulting in GILT COMPLEX becoming unbalanced and shifting outwards bumping TOTALITY out onto NOVA STRIKE, which in turn bumped ROCKFAST out onto NANDOWRA, carrying that gelding wider on the track.

NANDOWRA and WONDERFUL PRINCE (R Woodworth) both raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 400m, ODE TO JOY shifted outwards when improving and in so doing, carried ROCKFAST, NANDOWRA and VIVIANO (O Chavez) wider on the track.

Near the 50m, WONDERFUL PRINCE shifted outwards under pressure carrying NOVA STRIKE outwards.

Approaching the Winning Post, ODE TO JOY had to be eased when carried outwards onto the heels of VIVIANO by NOVA STRIKE.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MIGHTY WARRIOR (CW Brown) which revealed no apparent abnormality.
