Apprentice Gill suspended three months

SINGAPORE,  29 Dec 2009

Harmeet Singh Gill, who just retained his champion apprentice title in Malaysia for the 2008 season, has withdrawn his appeal against a three-month suspension and will serve out the sentence beginning today.

Gill was on Nov 26 suspended three months for his handling of LIM’S CONNECTION at Kranji on Oct 30.

The Race Meeting Stewards today acceded to a request from Gill, the rider of LIM’S CONNECTION, to withdraw his appeal against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. His deposit was forfeited.

The Race Meeting Stewards have determined that the suspension from riding in races for a period of three months will therefore be with immediate effect from today and will run until March 28, both dates inclusive.
