Apprentice Lou Ho today
lost his appeal against a one-year disqualification for his ride on BEST
WRESTLER in a Class 4 - 1200m sprint in Ipoh on Sept 10.
Ho was handed the sentence at the
conclusion of an inquiry on Sept 26 and
subsequently denied a stay of execution.
The Racing Stewards of the Perak Turf Club
heard his appeal today.
After considering submissions from Ho’s counsel and the Acting Chief
Stipendiary Steward and after reviewing the films, the Racing Stewards
dismissed the appeal and forfeited his deposit.
After considering submissions from counsel that App Lou Ho had already
served a portion of the sentence, as he was not granted a stay between the
period Sept 26 to Nov 15, the Racing Stewards deemed that had partially
served his disqualification and therefore, ordered that the remainder of his
disqualification to take effect from today to Nov 10, 2010, both days
inclusive.  |
