Malaysia stages first meeting in six weeks PENANG: Sep 29, 2015 |
|
Malaysia will stage its first race meeting in six weeks when the Penang Turf Club hosts a meeting for home based horses this Sunday. Penang is the least affected of the three Malaysian clubs by an outbreak of respiratory infections, which resulted in a ban on the movement of horses in the country. Nine races have been slated for Sunday which is a scheduled race meeting for the Club. The Selangor Turf Club will stage its first meeting since Aug 22 with a meeting for home based horses on Oct 31. The Perak Turf Club last held a meeting on Aug 23. Its next scheduled meeting is on Nov 14 and 15 with the running of the Coronation Cup as the highlight. Unless the ban on the movement of horses in the country is lifted by then, the Cup may be postponed or even cancelled for the year. |
