Chin lands comeback win on Magnetise

Apprentice Chin Chee Seng scored his first win since making a comeback last September when he piloted MAGETISE to a shock win in the Initiation - 1200m sprint at Kranji here this afternoon.

It was also the first win in nearly four years for Chin who was disqualified one year for his handling of THREE KINGS in June 2012. The Singapore lad had gotten his career off to a promising start with five winners earlier that year.

After serving his disqualification, Chin had to bid for his time before he was granted his licence last September and today's ride on MAGNETISE was his 22nd since his return.

MAGNETISE, purchased for NZ$90,000 at the Ready To Run sale by Bruce Marsh, finished fourth in his debut last December and finished down the field last time out.

Hence, the four-year-old started at long odds ($142) in today's race and he had to come from a long way back to win drawing away by one length.

"I’m very happy my boss has given me my first winner after the long time away," said Chin who is indentured to Marsh.
