Seow first female to win apprentice title

Jerlyn Seow Poh Hui creates history by becoming the first female to win a top apprentice title on the local turf.

Forced to sit out the final two days of the Singapore racing season for 2023 due to a suspension, Seow saw her lead (14 winners) at the top of the table stayed intact.

Jamil Sarwi scored on CHINA PEARL in the season-ending meeting at Kranji today to finish second with 12 winners.

The highlight of Seow's season was undoubtedly winning four races three weeks ago.

Manoel Nunes landed his 95th winner of the season on EASY BREEZY, winning more than double the number of winners than any other jockey.

It was Vlad Duric who finished the season with a flourish, booting home four winners (SEAMLESSLY, LIGHTNING STRIKE, ANIKI and SILO) today.

Jason Ong drew a blank today but the Singaporean has already bagged the champion trainer's title with 66 winners, 10 more than last season's top trainer Tim Fitzsimmons who wrapped up the 2023 season with LIGHTNING STRIKE today.
