Palveer Mogun registered his
maiden success with a surprise win astride POWER WIND in the Restricted
Maiden event over 1200m here today, becoming the latest apprentice from
Mauritius to ride a winner at this track this season.
Mogun is one of seven
former track riders from Mauritius who graduated from the Perak Turf Club
Training Academy early this year and are currently indentured to Ipoh based
trainers.
Rashpassing Mayur was the first to win
astride KIWI MAESTRO on Jan 11. Michael Migale
won his debut on BELWINS in Ipoh on April 12 while
Daniel Jagadishan was off the mark on
NEVERUNCONDITIONAL on the same day.
Daniel doubled his score
when he booted home WOJCINSKI in a Class
4 - 1000m sprint on the straight course today.
POWER WIND, who finished
dead last in his debut back in January, benefited greatly from the run and a
let-up to win easily by one and a quarter length. He paid RM272 and it was
the third race in-a-row where the winners paid three-figure dividend.
LUCK ALOT broke the duck in
his 22nd start to pay RM167 for a win while BLAZING STEED, who had finished
down the field in four starts this season, sprang a huge surprise to pay
RM455.
